Gentamicin is an anribiotic naturally produced by the bacterium Micromonospora purpurea. Gentamycin is used against a wide range of bacterial infections, mostly Gram-negative bacteria. G. is used in the treatment of respiratory and urinary tract infections, blood, bone, and soft tissue infections.
