A more complete way to understand healthy aging
How healthy are you for your age? That sounds like a simple question, but cholesterol, blood pressure, weight—or even a calculated “biological age”—cannot answer it alone. A person can have excellent laboratory results but poor strength or aerobic fitness. Another can be physically fit while carrying an important cardiovascular risk. Good nutrition cannot compensate for untreated hypertension, and excellent fitness cannot completely protect someone whose mobility, sleep, cognition, or metabolic health is deteriorating.
Healthy aging has multiple dimensions, and the weakest ones often matter most. The Healthspan & Longevity Intelligence System was developed to bring those dimensions together in one structured assessment. Rather than reducing your health to a single longevity score or estimated biological age, the System evaluates three complementary parts of healthy aging:
Disease-Risk Control: Heart and vascular health, metabolic health, kidney function, and other factors associated with chronic disease.
Physical Reserve: Aerobic fitness, muscle strength, mobility, balance, bone resilience, and the physical capacity available to meet the demands of aging, illness, or injury.
Intrinsic Capacity: Sleep and recovery, cognition, vision and hearing, psychological resilience, social connection, and the ability to remain engaged in meaningful activities.
Together, they provide a much broader picture of healthspan—the years of life spent not simply alive, but healthy, functional, independent, and able to do the things that matter to you.
Why This Approach Is Different
Many health and longevity tools emphasize laboratory biomarkers, wearable data, a single risk score, or an estimate of “biological age.” Those approaches can provide useful information, but they can also hide an important weakness. If several excellent results are averaged together with one poor result, the final score may still look reassuring.
The Healthspan & Longevity Intelligence System is deliberately designed differently.
An important weakness cannot simply be averaged away by strengths somewhere else.
The System keeps major health domains separate and distinguishes between:
- clinical risk that may deserve medical attention,
- functional reserve that determines what your body can actually do,
- lifestyle behaviors that influence those capacities,
- and confidence in the result, based on how much reliable information is available.
For example, reporting regular exercise is valuable—but if you have an actual VO₂max measurement, the System gives greater weight to the measured fitness capacity. Similarly, resistance-training frequency does not replace direct information from grip strength or chair-rise performance. And if you do not know a measurement, the System does not assume that you are unhealthy. Missing information simply lowers the confidence of that part of the assessment.
Who can benefit from this assessment?
The System is designed primarily for adults interested in preserving health, independence, and functional capacity as they age. It may be especially useful if you want to understand how cardiovascular health, metabolism, fitness, strength, sleep, nutrition, and other healthy-aging factors fit together.
You do not need to be an athlete, follow a special diet, or have extensive laboratory testing.
What the System Helps You Discover
The goal is not to tell you how long you will live. Instead, it is designed to answer four more practical questions:
What is already working well?
Where is my healthspan reserve weakest?
Which problems deserve attention first?
Which evidence-supported changes are most likely to improve my overall health and function?
Your results are therefore shown by individual health domains rather than as one overall “longevity score.” Each domain is classified as Strong, Good, Opportunity, Priority, or Major Priority, indicating how much reserve or risk-factor control appears to be present and how much attention that area may deserve. Clinical findings are handled separately. A potentially important medical issue cannot be hidden by excellent results elsewhere.
From Assessment to Action
The System does more than identify weaknesses. It converts your profile into a prioritized, evidence-based action plan. Recommendations are ranked according to the size of the health gap, strength of the scientific evidence, actionability, confidence in the underlying information, and whether a clinical issue deserves attention before lifestyle optimization. This means well-established interventions—such as controlling blood pressure, avoiding tobacco, improving aerobic fitness, preserving muscle strength, sleeping adequately, and improving diet quality—take precedence over experimental longevity strategies.

You Don’t Need Special Tests to Begin
Start with the Quick Assessment using information you probably already know. It takes only a few minutes. You can then add laboratory measurements, fitness tests, mobility assessments, and other information if you want a more complete and higher-confidence profile. When entering laboratory results, the System provides Reference context explaining commonly used guideline ranges and how individual measurements are interpreted. If you don’t know an answer, simply leave it blank. Do not guess.
One Important Limitation
The Healthspan & Longevity Intelligence System is an educational healthspan assessment and decision-support tool. It does not diagnose disease, prescribe medication, replace professional medical care, predict your lifespan, or claim to determine your true biological age. When an entered result may deserve medical attention, the System identifies it separately and recommends appropriate follow-up rather than attempting to make a diagnosis.

How the System Works
Instead of asking, “How old is my body?”, the system evaluates several different dimensions of healthy aging. A person can have excellent fitness but uncontrolled blood pressure. Another can have excellent laboratory results but poor strength, impaired mobility, inadequate sleep, or increasing social isolation. A single overall score can hide those weaknesses. For that reason, the Healthspan & Longevity Intelligence System evaluates domains separately and uses a weak-link approach: a serious problem in one area cannot simply be cancelled out by strengths somewhere else.
The system also distinguishes between:
Disease-risk control — factors such as blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose regulation, and kidney function.
Physical reserve — aerobic capacity, muscle strength, mobility, balance, bone resilience, and body composition.
Intrinsic capacity — sleep and recovery, cognition, sensory function, and psychological and social resilience.
The amount and quality of information you provide also determine confidence in each result. Missing information does not count against you; it simply lowers confidence until better measurements are available.
A Short Guide to Each Section
1. Quick Assessment
This is the best place to begin. It uses a small set of high-value health and lifestyle questions, including blood pressure, activity, resistance training, sleep, nicotine exposure, and basic health history. It takes only a few minutes and produces an initial healthspan profile. You can stop there or continue to improve its precision.
How to Read Your Results
Each health domain is placed into one of five bands. These bands describe how strong that area currently appears and how much attention it may deserve:
Strong — 85–100: This area appears to be in a favorable range with good healthspan reserve or risk-factor control. The main goal is usually to maintain what is working rather than make major changes.
Good — 70–84: Overall status is favorable, but there may still be room for improvement. Think of this as a solid foundation with some opportunities to strengthen it further.
Opportunity — 55–69: The system has identified a meaningful area where improvement could strengthen long-term health or functional reserve. It is not necessarily a medical problem, but it is worth working on.
Priority — 40–54: This area shows a more important weakness or risk factor. It deserves greater attention and usually a more deliberate action plan.
Major Priority — below 40: This area shows a substantial weakness, high-risk finding, or very limited reserve. It should receive prompt attention. If the underlying finding meets a clinical threshold, the system will separately recommend appropriate medical follow-up.
These categories are not diagnoses. A low score may reflect a modifiable health risk, reduced physical reserve, or limited information. Important clinical findings are flagged separately and cannot be hidden by strong scores in other areas.

3. Improve Accuracy
This optional section allows you to add laboratory results you may already have. The most useful initial measurements include:
- LDL cholesterol
- HbA1c
- eGFR
- UACR
Additional cardiovascular and metabolic measurements can also be entered. When you select a laboratory field, Reference context explains commonly used guideline ranges and how the measurement is interpreted. You do not need to complete unfamiliar fields. Leave them blank rather than guessing.
4. Physical Reserve
This section goes beyond lifestyle behavior and asks what your body can actually do. Depending on the measurements available, the system can evaluate:
- VO₂max or cardiorespiratory fitness
- Grip strength
- Chair-rise performance
- Timed Up and Go
- Balance
- Falls and mobility history
Measured performance generally provides more useful information than simply reporting how often you exercise.
5. Complete Profile
Healthy aging involves more than cardiovascular fitness. This optional section adds information about areas such as:
- sleep and recovery
- nutrition
- bone and fracture resilience
- cognition
- hearing and vision
- psychological resilience
- loneliness and social connection
- ability to participate in valued activities
These factors become increasingly important for maintaining independence later in life.
6. Recommendations
This section turns your profile into a prioritized action plan. The system does not simply produce a long list of generic healthy-lifestyle advice. Recommendations are ranked according to:
- importance of the detected health gap
- strength of supporting evidence
- how actionable the change is
- confidence in the underlying information
- whether a clinical issue requires attention first
Strong guideline-supported actions outrank experimental longevity strategies. When several domains can benefit from the same intervention, the recommendation is shown once rather than repeated.
7. What If…?
The Intervention Simulator allows you to explore hypothetical changes. For example:
- What if my blood pressure improved?
- What if my LDL-C decreased?
- What if my VO₂max increased?
- What if I began strength training?
- What if I consistently slept 7–8 hours?
The simulator recalculates your profile using those hypothetical values and shows which domains could change most. It does not predict how many years you will live, calculate years of life gained, or promise that a target will be achieved. Think of it as a way to understand which levers potentially matter most.
8. Trends
Healthspan is not a one-time measurement. The Trends section allows you to save snapshots and compare your profile over time. This can help you see whether changes in exercise, sleep, blood pressure, laboratory values, or other factors are actually moving your health in the desired direction.
Learn — Why These Factors Matter
The Learn section explains the science behind the assessment in plain language. It includes the Longevity Pyramid, which separates well-established foundations from more experimental longevity ideas. At its base are interventions with the strongest human evidence:
- avoiding tobacco
- regular aerobic activity
- resistance training
- healthy nutrition
- adequate sleep
- cardiovascular and metabolic risk control
- maintaining physical and social function
Higher in the pyramid are emerging and experimental strategies such as prolonged fasting, NAD⁺-related interventions, rapamycin, senolytics, and epigenetic reprogramming. These topics are scientifically interesting, but they do not outrank the fundamentals.
The section also explains influential perspectives from Peter Attia, Valter Longo, and David Sinclair while clearly separating expert viewpoints from established clinical evidence.
Methodology
For readers who want to know how the system makes its decisions, Methodology explains the scoring architecture, evidence hierarchy, measurement confidence, clinical safeguards, and recommendation logic. This section is intentionally more technical and is not required for ordinary use.
Glossary
Medicine and longevity research use many unfamiliar expressions. The searchable Glossary explains terms such as:
