Vitamin K2 prevents prostate cancer, cardiovascular disease, and bone weakness

Introduction.

It has long been noticed geographical or national differences in prostate cancer susceptibility. These variations were mostly attributed to the specificity of the diet and culinary preferences of different cultures. And this, in turn, suggests that some foods or ingredients of food may have chemoprotective properties against cancer cells. Lycopene, selenium, vitamins C, D, E, and K, green tea, silymarin, pomegranate, and Resveratrol are well known dietary components that attracted considerable attention of scientists in terms of their anticancer potential. Here I’ll focus on vitamin K2 and its varieties as the natural food components capable of stopping the development of the prostate cancer or slowing down its progression.

A message from a man diagnosed with prostate cancer (Part three)

Radiotherapy of prostate cancer.

So in Part 2, I left you just after my treatment had ended. We had finally finished the daily trip. I have to say the hospital team was fantastic, so yes it was a long trip – each day there and back, but they helped a lot to ease the feeling on this. The treatment itself (the radiotherapy) did not cause me any pain or reaction which was just as well as I was driving. I was warned by the consultant that at the latter end of the treatment there might be issues with my skin around the area being treated, but I was fortunate enough not to have this happen to me. Apparently, the skin can become very irritated, and you deal with this by massaging appropriate cream into it. We bought the cream in anticipation but did not need it. Anyone for a free tube of cream??

A message from a man diagnosed with prostate cancer (part two)

The biopsy results.

So we left the reader in part one just after I had my biopsy and it was quite a few days before I had to go for the results. The results were quite definite which was a good thing as I didn’t want any iffy results. As we know there were 12 samples of the prostate which were analyzed. Seven of these were found to show that the cancer was present and therefore it was enough to give me a score during the test that indicated that something had to be done.

A message from a man diagnosed with prostate cancer

Introduction.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common and fortunately the most curable tumor of men. Early diagnosis of the cancer is the key player in the effectiveness of the cure affecting the quality of life, longevity following the treatment, and the ultimate verdict: hopeful or hopeless. This is a message from Keith Rickman, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer a year ago and passed the treatment from the very beginning to the end. The message is to those men who are potentially at risk, to their wives, partners, sisters, daughters, to everyone who loves them. Do not let the fear of cancer diagnosis, daily hassle, and false hope to take away your loved ones.

What kind of meat can cause prostate cancer?

Introduction

It should be noted that in recent years meat, especially red meat has been blaming for causing many common diseases of man, including heart diseases, colon and prostate cancer. Everywhere warnings are heard “Do not eat red meat, replace it with vegetable proteins!” Is it really so dangerous or we are witnessing yet another story of human irrationality? I mean a story with eggs when this superfood was tagged with the sign “DANGEROUS” just because of misinterpretations of the study results, and the shelves of our stores have been overloaded with all kinds of cereals.

What does cause the development of prostate cancer in men?

Prostate cancer is the second only to the lung tumor in men worldwide, with about 900 000 new cases diagnosed annually and more than 250 000 deaths a year.

What does cause the development of prostate cancer?

Genetic errors in the genes regulating cell growth and DNA repair play a principal role in the development of prostate cancer.
The genes BRCA1 and BRCA2 are the DNA repair genes and exist in the genome of man as well as a woman. Normally these genes repair errors or mutations occurring in the structure of the DNA molecule. However, when they cannot operate properly due to the modifications in their own structure, the cell looks like a shop full of working machines but without a mechanic. With time more and more machines get out of the order. BRCA functional loss results in genomic instability and the accumulation of genetic errors in cells. So we get these genes from our parents, regardless they are normal or mutated.
